PSE Round-Up: March 21, 2013


PSE Market Summary:

The Philippine Stocks Market is up by 53.36 or .83% to close at 6,472.98. Total trades recorded were 27,797 with 103 stocks advances, 50 declines and 51 stocks unchanged.


VLL Posts P4.4B Net Income

Vista Land & Landscapes (PSE:VLL) posted net income of P4.4 billion on top of strong market demand for low cost housing. Its totla revenues hit P16.3 billion.


FLI Net INcome Up 17%

Filinvest Land Ic. (PSE:FLI) reported net income of P3.431 billion , up 17% from P2.94 billion posted in 2011. The rowth was mainly due to increase in real estate sales and rental income.

PSE Round-Up: November 14, 2012

PSE Market Summary:

The Philippine Stocks Market was down for the second day, closing slightly lower at 5,451.09. Total trades were down to 21,826 with 81 stocks advances, 67 declines and 51 stocks unchanged.


SMC Confirms talks with Cayman Airways

San Miguel Corporation (PSE:SMC) confirmed they are in talks with the Government of Cayman Islands to pursue a possible investment in Cayman Airways. SMC is said to have offered $25 million which will give them 49% controlling interest should the negotiations push through.


JFC Profits Up 19%

Jollibee Foods Corporation (PSE:JFC) reported net income of P881.7 million for the third quarter of 2012, up by 18.9% from same period last year. Main drivers were sales growth in businesses overseas. JFC shares closed at P105.7 per share, up by P.70 for the day.


RFM Declares Cash Dividend

RFM Corporation (PSE:RFM) declared cash dividend as follow:

FLI Net Income Increase 18%

Filinvest Land, Inc. (PSE:FLI) announced its net income for the first nine months of 2012 roseby 18% to P1.967 billion, up from P1.661 billion generated same period last year. The growth was fueled by increase in real estate sales. FLI stocks were down P.1 to 1.58 per share.


SECB Net Income Up 55%

Security Bank Corporation (PSE:SECB) reported an increase in third quarter results to P6.2 billion, up by 55% from same period last year. The result was mainly driven by growth in loans portfolio and deposits. SECB shares closed at P161.90, down by P.10 for the day.


PNX Posts 19% Growth

Phoenix Petroleum Philippines, Inc. (PSE:PNX) posted a 19% growth in revenue to P24.90 billion in the first nine months from P20.90 billion last year. PNX stocks were up P.07 to P8.55 per share.

PSE Round-Up: November 6, 2012

PSE Market Summary:

The Philippine Stocks Market was up for the 2nd straight day from 5,457.82 to 5,473.61. Total trades were up to 28,910 with 96 stocks advances, 78 declines and 35 remaining unchanged. 


LOTO Net Income Up 58%

Pacific Online Systems Corporation (PSE:LOTO) announced their net income reached P281.2 million in the first nine months, up by 58% from P178 million same period last year. The increase was mostly driven by roll-out of new terminals and higher lotto sales. LOTO shares went down by P.04 to close at P14 per share.


TDY to Defer Airline Acquisition

Newly restructured holding company LT Group Inc. (PSE:TDY), formerly Tanduay Holdings, Inc. decided that it will defer acquiring 100% ownership in Philippine Airlines (PSE:PAL) and Air Philippines Corporation in light of recent strategic meetings. The group will pursue with the acquisition within three years when a more stable and strong performance is obtained by the airlines. All the businesses are owned by Billion tycoon Lucion Tan. TDY and PAL shares closed at P11.72 (up P.22) and P5.10 (up P.15) per share.


TEL Core Net Income Down 8%

Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PSE:TEL) reported core net income of P28 billion in the first nine months of 2012, down 8% from P30.6 billion same period last year. The decrease was mainly due to higher selling an promo expenses in response to more competitive environment. TEL shares were up 1.15% to P2,650 per share.


FLI Lots Price Reach New High

Lots prices at Filinvest Land, Inc. have soared in recent months, particularly in the Alabang area, attributed to the completion of Skyway extension from Sucat to Alabang. A total of 2.6 hectares have been sold to FLI buyers in 2012. FLI stocks closed at P1.63 per share, up P.09 or 5.84%.


NIKL Net Income Down 31%

Nickel Asia Corporation (PSE:NIKL) reported its net income for nine months at P2.24 billion, down 31% from P3.26 billion same period last year. The decline was mainly due to lower prices of nickel ore. NIKL shares were up by P.04 to close at P17.20.

FLI's BPO Office Nears Completion

Property developer Filinvest Land, Inc. (FLI) reports that its latest office building in Northgate Cyberzone is expected to be fully completed by the end of the year. The new building is part of FLI's goal to double its gross leasable area by 2015.


MEG to Raise P 23.1B for New Projects 

Property developer Megaworld Corporation (MEG) expects to raise at least P 23.1 billion in sales from new condo projects located in key cities in Metro Manila and Cebu. MEG has at least 6 new condominium projects lined up.

JTH Enter in Swap Agreement with STI

JTH Davis Holdings, Inc. (JTH) executed  share swap agreement with STI Education Services Group. The agreement is based on a ratio of 6.5 shares of JTH for every 1 share of STI.

PSE Round-Up: September 6, 2012

Market Summary:

The Philippines Stocks Exchange is down by .70 or .01% to close at 5,150.11. Most sectors were up, led by Industrial (.27%). Decliners were Services (.45%) and Property (.26%). The Market is now down for three consecutive days.


DMCI Acquires ENK PLC

Conglomerate DMCI Holdings Inc. (PSE:DMC) made a joint offer together with D&A Income Ltd. to acquire share capital of ENK PLC. The joint offerors already has 34.2% shares with valid acceptance. The latest offer give them a controlling interest of approximately 60.7% of the existing share capital. ENK PLC is a UK-based company that focuses on exploration and production of nickel deposits.


EDC Issues Cash Dividend

Energy Development Corporation (PSE:EDC) declared a special cash dividend with below details:

cash = P .04 per common share
ex-date = Sept. 17, 2012
record date = Sept. 20, 2012
payment date = on or before Oct. 16, 2012


FLI Launches New Mid-Rise Project

Property developer Filinvest Land, Inc. (PSE:FLI) launched its latest Mid-Rise Building Project located in Amang Rodriguez, Pasig. One Spatial Pasig is the first of a series of mid rise projects under the "Spatial" product, which offers "more space more value" affordable units to everyone.

JFC Net Income Up 33%

Philippines' largest food service company Jollibee Foods Corporation (PSE:JFC) reported Net Income Attributable to Parent Company of P921 Million for 2Q2012, up 33% from P693 Million same period last year. The increase was attributed to foreign business growth most notably in US and Asia. Full report can be viewed here.


GMA Gross Revenues Up 1%

Media company GMA Network, Inc. (PSE:GMA) registered 6.79 Billion consolidated gross revenues for 2Q2012, up by P64 Million or 1% from last year. Net income after tax is P1.014 Billion, on rack to its full year target of P2 Billion. Full report can be viewed here.


MEG 1st Half Net Income Up 15%

Property developer Megaworld Corporation reported core net income of P3.69 Billion for the 1st half of 2012, up 15% from P3.21 Billion from previous year. The growth was due to continued strength in its residential sales and BPO office rentals. Full report can be viewed here.


FLI Net Income Up 19%; No Longer Bidding for FTI

Property developer Filinvest Land, Inc. (PSE:FLI) announced net income of P1.525 Billion, up 19% from P1.282 Billion generated same period last year. The growth was mainly due to the 28% increase in real estate sales. 

In a separate disclosure, the company announced in will no longer participate in the bidding for the 74-hectare FTI Property in Taguig. Management stated that acquiring said property at this time did not fit wtih its land banking strategy. 


SM Posts 13% Growth 1st Half

Conglomerate company SM Investments Corporation reported P10.9 Billion net income from P9.6 Billion same period last year, equivalent to 13% growth. The increase was driven by strong earnings in residential segment, banks and mall operations. Full report can be viewed here.


Atlas Core Income Reach P1.66 Billion

Atlas Consolidated Mining & Development Corporation reported core income of P1.66 Billion, 72% higher than last year. The improvement is attributed to rise in copper production and higher throughput.
