PSE Market Summary:

The Philippine Stocks Market was down for three days, sliding by 80.84 to close at 5,707.11. THE PSE index is down 87.09 or 1.50% from the previous week. Total trades reached 23,586 with 71 stocks advances, 106 declines and 34 stocks unchanged.


TOL, SMIC to Bid in Expressway Project

Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (PSE:TOL) and SM Investments Corp (PSE:SM) will jointly bid for the P15 billion NAIA expressway project. The companies disclosed that they already passed the pre-qualification for bidding.


AC Declares Cash Dividend

Ayala Corporation (PSE:AC) declared cash dividend as follows:

PSE Market Summary:

The Philippine Stocks Market slid down by 18.56 to close at 5,687.72. Total trades reached 27,339 with 70 stocks advances, 74 declines and 55 remaining unchanged. 


DMC Units Eyes more Nickel Power Mines

The mining unit of DMCI Holdings, Inc. (PSE:DMC) is looking to acquire more nickel mines. DMC currently owns 17% of Toledo Mining Corp and is looking to purchase another 17% more.


SMC to Enter Energy Sector

San Miguel Corporation (PSE:SMC) is looking to expand its business into energy as it participates in a bidding for a $5 billion acquisition of a gas business. The move underscores a push to surpass previous financial performances.


"SB is Philippines' Bank of the Year" - The Banker

Security Bank (PSE:SB) was hailed as the country's bank of the year by The Banker, a well respected banking magazine. The award is given as an annual event to promote industry-wide excellence in global financial institutions.  SB has consistently improved its ROE for the last three years with earnings of P6.7 billion in 2011.


LTG to Partner with Spanish Dairy Producer

LT Group (PSE:LTG) will partner with Grupo Leche Pascual, a spanish company in dairy produce business for the sale of yogurt in the Philippines. The products will be marketed by LTG under ABI Pascual Foods.


STI Issues Cash Dividend

STI Education Systems Holdings, Inc (PSE:STI) declared cash dividend as follows:

The Philippine stocks market ended its 3-day rally to close lower by P14.78 at P5,455.92. Total trades were down to 22,669 with 69 stocks advances, 91 declines and 52 stocks remaining unchanged.
 



PGOLD Posts 67.2% Increase in Net Income

Puregold Price Club, Inc. (PSE:PGOLD) reported net income of P1.802 billion for the nine months of 2012, up 67.2% compared to P1.078 billion same period last year. The growth was mainly due to increased sales turnover and acquisition of S&R Warehouse Club. PGOLD shares increase by P.05 to close at P29.75.


AC Profits Rise 19%

Ayala Corporation (PSE:AC) reported consolidated net income of P8.7 billion for the first nine months of 2012, 19% higher than last year. The strong earnings was mainly due to robust income from its core and non-core businesses in property, banking and water sectors. AC stocks decreased by P7 to close at P443 per share.


AGI Earnings Up 48%

Alliance Global Group, Inc. (PSE:AGI) announced its core net income to P13.46 billion in the first nine months, up 48% from P9.12 billion in the same period last year. AGI stocks closed P15 per share, up P.02 for the day.


SMB Declares Cash Dividend

San Miguel Brewery (PSE:SMB) declared cash dividend as follow:

ACR Revenues Up 9%

Alsons Consolidated Resources, Inc. (PSE:ACR) reported a 9% increase in the past nine months of 2012 to P2.27 billion from P2.08 billion same period last year. ACR stocks increased by P.01 to lcose at P1.40.

PSE Round-Up: October 30, 2012

PSE Market Summary:

The Philippine Stocks Market rallied toward the end of day to close higher by 29.25 at 5,426.67 points. Total trades recorded were only 24,600 with 84 stocks advances, 78 declines and 43 stocks unchanged.


BPI Posts 37% Increase

Bank of the Philippine Islands (PSE:BPI) reported a net income of P13.2 billion for the first nine months, up 37% same period last year. The strong performance was mainly due to the increase in interest income, up by 17%. BPI stocks closed at P83.30, up by P.20 for the day.


FMIC Net Inome up 47%

First Metro Investment Corporation (PSE:FMIC) reported consolidated net income of P2.6 billion as of end of third quarter from P1.8 billion or 47% higher than last year. The increase was mainly due to higher interest income from fixed securities, trading gains, distribution fee income and brokerage fees.


TEL Receives Moody's Upgrade to Baa2

The Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PSE:TEL) received credit rating upgrade from Moody's from Baa3 to Baa2. The rating upgrade signifies a stable outlook and PLDT's dominant market position, strong financial metrics, and excellent liquidity". TEL shares were up by P22 to close at P2,656 today.


ALI Launches Redeveloped Glorietta

Ayala Land, Inc. (PSE:ALI) announced the launnch of the redeveloped Glorietta mall including the surrounding residential, hotel and office projects in Ayala Center. The redevelopment is estimated to cost around P3.1 billion which will open by December. ALI stocks was down P.15 to P23.50 to close the day.


LR Acquires 50% of Midas Hotel Operator

Leisure and Resorts World Corporation (PSE:LR) signed a preliminary agreement to acquire 50% of Hotel Enterprises of the Philippines, Inc. which owns and operates the Midas Hotel and Casino in Roxas Boulevard. LR stocks were up P.48 to P9.68 to close the day, after a one-hour voluntary trading halt.  


PRC Declares Cash Dividend

Philippine Racing Club declared dividend as follows:

PSE Market Summary:

The Philippine Stocks Market was slightly down by .01 to close at 5,325.17. Intraday trading were down by noon but recovered before market closed.



GLO Signs P 2B Loan Facility

Globe Telecom (PSE:GLO) signed a P 2 billion term loan facility with Philippine American  Life and General lnsurance Company, The Insular Life Assurance Company, Ltd. and Sunlife of Canada (Philippines), Inc. Loan proceeds will be used to refinance company debts and fund capital expenditure requirements. The move takes advantage of prevailing low interest rates.



WEB Declares Cash Dividend

Philweb Corporation (PSE:WEB) announced the declaration of dividends as follows:

PHES in Final Stage for Potential ALI Tie-Up

Philippine Estates Corp. (PSE:PHES) confirms that it is in the final stage of negotiations in  possible tie-up with Ayala Land, Inc. (PSE:ALI) to develop Metrotech Industrial Park located in Valenzuela. ALI has been active in growing its land bank for further developments.


MWC Declares Cash Dividend

Manila Water Company, Inc. (PSE:MWC) announced the declaration of dividends as follows:

BDO to Raise Funds with LTNCDs

BDO Unibank, Inc. (PSE:BDO) plan to issue up to P 5 billion worth of long term negotiable certificates of deposit to support its medium term objectives. The LTNCDs will carry a maturity of seven years. 


SMC and TDY in Talks for Possible Joint Venture

San Miguel Corp (PSE:SMC) and Lucio Tan's LT Group (PSE:TDY) is in talks for a possible oint venture in building an airport akin to Ninoy Aquino International Airport. This shall address the requirements of Philippine Airlines, Inc. and Air Philippines Corp. 

GMA 7 Issues Cash Dividend

The board of Directors of GMA Network Inc. (PSE:GMA7) has agreed to declare a special cash dividend with details as follows:
