Update on Philex Mine: Water and Sediment Leaks Contained

Philex Mining Corporation (PSE:PX) officials announced that the release of water and sediment from its tailings pond 3 has been contained as of 8:30 AM of August 3. Engr. Eulalio Austin Jr., President and COO further states that they will still conduct full assessment of the measure to be undertaken for the rehabilitation and cleanup of affected waterways. 

The company previously reported it stopped operations as precautionary measure brought about by heavy rains and flooding. 

Padcal Mine Operations Stopped Due to Heavy Rains

Philex Mining Corporation (PSE:PX) stopped operation of its Padcal Mine in Benguet due to heavy accumulation of water brought about by typhoons Ferdie and Gener. The move is done as a precautionary measure. and the company wishes to assure the public that no injuries and fatalities have occurred. Operations shall resume once full assessment is finished.
